Welding

One of the earliest forms of resistance welding to be used in the metalworking industry is the butt-welding process. DC butt-welding is an added value in a high volume industry, because of the short cycle times. Compared to flash welding this process is much cleaner and there is a minimal of material loss. Fontijne Grotnes has recently developed the Mark II DC butt-welder, which has got an increased controllability & reliability of the welding process.

Features of the Mark II DC butt-welder
  • Increased performance
  • Increased controllability & reliability
  • Ease of maintenance
  • No mechanical adjustments necessary for material-thickness, blank width or diameter
  • Automatic compensation for possible taper shape section of blank material
  • Left-hand and right-hand version
  • Both lower electrodes are independently adjustable
In combination with one of our weld control systems this DC butt welder will perform optimally.
Fontijne Grotnes has developed two welding control systems: Weld 2000 and Weld 2009.
