Welding control systems

Fontijne Grotnes has developed two welding control systems: Weld 2000 and Weld 2009.

Weld 2009
Weld 2009 is the latest innovation of Fontijne Grotnes for the resistance welding market. This control system is a new approach for resistance welding based upon control of temperature, pressure and position. Weld 2009 is based on the knowledge of all resistance welding processes and is suitable for for automotive and non-automotive markets. Current welding technologies are operator dependent and there is no exact control of the operation. Due to fluctuating material and machine properties and no exact control of the process an inconsistent quality occurs. Weld 2009 deals with these problems, while reducing upset, start-up and energy costs. Weld 2009 constantly improves the process values during the welding process with a positive result in the weld quality.

Weld 2000
Weld 2000 is a state-of-the-art system designed and manufactured by Fontijne Grotnes to provide weld controls for DC butt-welders used for ring welding applications in the wheel manufacturing industry. With the Weld 2000 package you will be able to control primary weld current, by managing the thyristors or SCR’s. In addition, platen upset movement is controlled by Weld 2000. Optional upgrades to the Weld 2000 system are available, such as:
·           Electrode clamping force control
·           Remote access diagnosis and servicing

Retrofit

Weld 2000 can perfectly replace existing weld controls. This system is adaptable to the many levels of technology and control schemes that are already installed around the world. This means that existing machines do not necessarily have to undergo major modifications to their basic welding method before integrating Weld 2000. In many cases it is possible to integrate the system into the DC butt-welder with very few changes to the welder itself, regardless of such things as the type of platen control or clamp force control.

Weld 2000 is a suitable replacement for:
·           The Medar brand controls on DC welders.
·           The controls on Schlatter welders.
·           The controls on Blohm & Voss (OEW) welders or machines based on the
       Blohm & Voss design
